Tasting Notes Launched in the UK around 2016 this represented the first new Maker's Mark recipe for about 50 years and adds a unique twist to the standard release. There are essentially 2 main differences between Maker's 46 and Maker's Mark. The 46 is aged slightly longer which softens the structure whilst imparting more flavour.;Secondly French oak staves are added to the Bourbon towards the end of its additional aging process adding further spicy notes. The resulting Bourbon is unashamedly intense and pronounced displaying a toffee and spice nose and an expressive palate that is explosively spicy and deliciously layered. Sweet and indulgent on the finish this is a brilliant release from Maker's which offers an interesting alternative to the classic original.
