Wu was born in Taipei, Taiwan and emigrated to Vancouver, Canada, with his mother at age nine. He later moved to New York City to study at Parsons The New School for Design. He launched his eponymous label in 2006, and has since become one of the most celebrated young designers in the fashion industry.
Wu's designs have been worn by a who's who of Hollywood celebrities and style icons, including Jessica Alba, Blake Lively, Reese Witherspoon, Diane Kruger, and Sarah Jessica Parker. In 2012, he was named one of Forbes magazine's "30 Under 30" in the category of Art & Style.
